From our Brook House School Los Sauces | Spanish immersion programmes
We organise an educational program for students between the ages of 15 and 17 from Brook House School, our school in Bray. Transition Year is the ideal time and the ideal age for students to take the opportunity to live in Spain and learn Spanish language and culture.
Without intermediaries, the program is fully organized by the educational institution Los Sauces, based in Bray, and is in continuous contact with the schools in Madrid and Galicia.
School locationDestination: Galicia
The students will be able to choose between our two schools: Los Sauces Pontevedra and Los Sauces Vigo.
Students who choose Pontevedra will have the option to live in our school residence.
Students who choose Los Sauces Vigo will have the opportunity to live with host families from our school.
Galicia is in the northwest of Spain. This region of Spain is on the Atlantic Ocean and has cities of great both cultural and industrial relevance. Both schools are located in an area of great natural beauty and thanks to the variety of landscapes students can take up many different sporting activities. The school is very close to the city of Santiago de Compostela, the final stop for the pilgrims who do the Camino.

Destination: Madrid
Madrid, the capital of Spain, is another destination where you can spend your transition year with Los Sauces. We currently have two schools in Madrid: La Moraleja and Torrelodones. Both schools are located in the northern part of the region and just 25 minutes from the city centre.
Students will have the opportunity to live with Spanish families, carefully selected by us, who reside near the schools will attend daily.
Madrid, the vibrant capital of Spain, is a city full of history, culture, and modern life. Founded in the 9th century, it has witnessed significant historical events and is now the political and cultural heart of the country. Madrid is home to iconic landmarks such as the majestic Royal Palace, the Puerta del Sol, and the impressive Plaza Mayor, as well as symbols like Gran Vía and Retiro Park. The city also boasts some of the world’s finest museums, including the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofía Museum, where Picasso’s famous “Guernica” is on display.
Living in Madrid offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in its rich cultural heritage, enjoy its lively atmosphere, and experience Spanish hospitality while studying and growing in an international environment.
